If you’re not growing, you’re dying
In nature, plants and trees are either growing or dying. They start their life as a seed below the ground where they take their time to germinate and begin to grow. Eventually, they will pop through the surface of the dirt and reach for the sun to continue their growth process. Initially, they are a little vulnerable but over time they grow stronger and stronger.
We are also on a growth path, but our growth is not only physical. We start life as a seed inside our mothers’ stomachs and after 9 months, more or less, we emerge into the world. At first, we are vulnerable, but then we start to learn and grow and are able to stand on our own 2 feet.
The learning we have in our family and during our upbringing is perfectly designed for us to get the lessons we need to in this lifetime. If we have a lot of hardship growing up, we become stronger so we can handle it. It is conditioning us for living our life purpose.
We have a choice when hardship comes our way. We can wallow in self-pity and moan to the world, but the consequence of this is that we stunt our growth. Rather than growing, we start to slowly die day after day. Alternatively, we can rise to the challenge and accept the circumstances of our life. This enables us to look for the lessons that will allow us to rise up to a new level of understanding and a new way of being.
Just as a plant reaches for the sun, when we reach for the stars no matter what is put in our path, we are following our life purpose. Discovering and following our purpose in life gives immense satisfaction and it lets the universe know that we trust and respect the process of life. Embrace all of who you are and know that you are wonderfully supported through all the events in your life.
