Daily Prayer and My Journey – Peg Grant

My daily prayer – morning and night

This is the day the Lord has made
Let us rejoice and be glad in it
For I sought the Lord
And he heard me
And delivered me from all my fears.

Spirit and Charles are with me
Helping me — Guiding me — Healing me —
Giving me courage and confidence
Spirit and Charles are my constant companions.
They never leave me … Amen

My Journey

Charles had always been with the Spiritualist Church as both his parents were much involved with the church at Courtney Place. I had always gone to the Convent School and Catholic Church.

In 1985 (Friday nights) we would listen to the radio and enjoyed Mary Fry who was on each week. In February of 1985 the girls at our shop told us that Mary was on at the Porirua Church on the Wednesday night. It was Charles’ Rotary night so he said he didn’t think he could make it, so I went along with the girls from work. Mary was well into her address when in burst Charles (15 minutes late). Jack got him a chair in the aisle and he sat there.

When Mary started her clairvoyance she came straight to Charles — and what she told him was such an eye opener to me. His mother came through with a child on each hand, his brother and sister, (the brother) who had passed away just six weeks before Charles was born — and the sister had passed away two years before — both aged seven years. After that night we started to go to church regularly — also Sunday night at Petone.

The particular workshop/discussion group that helped me so much was at Muriel and Jack Clapton’s home for eight years on a Monday afternoon, 1.30 — 3.30 pm. They taught us meditation and explained all things to us. Muriel had speakers come to us and talk. There were — Mary and Warwick Fry, Wai Morgan, Blair Styra, Doreen Haslem and so many more, that I can’t remember their names. One afternoon Mary had a large dish of sand and we put our prints on the sand and she read our hand prints in the sand. It was amazing what I had been told. Those years on a Monday we can all look back on with heartfelt pleasure and thanks.

Coming next to healing. I started going up to Sunrise Boulevaron a Saturday morning for healing. Then in June 1995, the church acquired the healing rooms at 139 Main Road. In 1988 Jack asked me to come up to the table bed and start my learning of healing. He was such a gentleman and taught me a lot. We called him the ‘Head Man’ as when Jack put his hands on your head you could feel the tension moving out.

The healing affirmation I still use now when I am healing is: “The healing grace of Jesus Christ is working in you (name of person being healed) now.” I believe this. (I repeat this throughout the healing.)
